** To complete the application and issuance process, you will need the following information:
  1. Principal name: park owner
  2. Residence address: park owner
  3. Social security number: park owner
  4. Manufactured home unit information
    1. Unit year, make, serial number and size of the unit.
    2. Bond limit—please remember that the Secretary of State’s office will require the bond limit to be at least double the value of the home. Example: $1,000 Home Value = $2,000 bond limit.
  5. Buy a Bond—"Choose a Bond Type" screen
    1. Complete the drop down fields
      Example:
      State—Michigan
      Bond class—license & permit for lost title bonds
      Bond category—certificate of title for Manufactured Home
      Obligee—The State of Michigan will pre-fill with the State of Department
      Company—Great American Insurance will pre-fill as the bond carrier
  6. Premium calculation screen
    1. Attorney-In-Fact—Choose Mark E. Barrett in the drop down field
    2. Effective date
    3. Penalty—list the bond limit requested ** Must be double the value of the home
  7. Principal/owner information screen
    1. Complete all principal/owner and unit information fields as indicated
    2. Description of why the bond is being requested: Lost Title/Abandoned Title
  8. Business entity name
    1. Complete this page with the name in which the bond will be issued
      Example: Sales entity name (Mobile Home Sales, LLC) or individual name (John Smith)
    2. Main office location address—Do not use address of the home/lot address
  9. Billing information
    1. Billing information—the billing address should be shown as the same address listed on the bond form
  10. Agency guest
    1. Answer yes that you are purchasing the bond for yourself and/or your community
  11. Complete contact information
  12. Review/submit screen
    1. Complete as directed
  13. Choose billing type/option—example: direct bill payment with credit card
  14. Submit bond application
    1. The bond will automatically generate once the payment is made with a credit card
    2. Print the bond form and power of attorney
    3. Sign where indicated as the principal and/or applicant and submit the forms to the Secretary of State’s office
